Workplace Health and Safety and Facilities Officer / Consultant job with AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL UNIVERSITY (ANU)

Classification: ANU Officer 5 or 6/7 (Administration)

Salary package: $77,399 – $100,098 per annum plus 17% superannuation

Term: Full-time, Continuing 

The Position

The Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) & Facilities Officer/Consultant is responsible for the reviewing requirements for the WHS audit and ensuring that the school WHS and facilities policies, processes and systems are up to date and compliant with University self-insurance requirements.

The successful candidate will work closely with the University Work Environment Group (WEG) and Facilities and Services (F&S) Division. They will be familiar with all School activities and provide interpretation of policy and direction in maintaining a safe work environment including in laboratory and fieldwork settings, and teaching, research, administration and public spaces managed by the School.

The Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) & Facilities Officer/Consultant will be a member of Research School of Earth Sciences (RSES). RSES is Australia’s leading academic research institution for Earth and Marine Sciences, and ranked 11th in the world for Earth and Marine Sciences (QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023). The Person

To excel in this role you will have a degree or progress towards degree in a field of WHS or profession/extensive experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education/training, demonstrated professional interest in the broader WHS community. Experience in a scientific or laboratory environment is desirable.
